The Mitica brand was set up with a factory in Capurso (BA). In the same year, the company obtained its first Dragon Ball licence, which triggered a surge in sales of surprise crisps.
Giochi Preziosi joined Mitica srl and the brand changed to Salati Preziosi. Thanks to the increase in production, Salati Preziosi moved to San Nicola di Melfi (PZ) in a factory of 8500 square metres.
The company Preziosi Food srl embarked on a new adventure with the acquisition of the Dolci Preziosi brand. The company grew in terms of turnover and offer by marketing (not producing) many new confectionery products, in particular Easter eggs (all with licences of children's favourite characters).
Mitica srl and Preziosi Food srl merged into a single company – Preziosi Food S.p.A. The factory dedicated to the production of Salati Preziosi was enlarged to almost 12,500 square metres.
Giochi Preziosi sold its stake to the Private Equity Vertis Sgr fund, which acquired the majority of the company. The fund brought new investments in the automation of production plants.
After 10 years, Preziosi Food sold the Dolci Preziosi brand to focus on its core business – producing and marketing savoury snacks.
Preziosi Food S.p.A. produced the first 100% compostable crisp pack in Italy for Casereccia Salati Preziosi.
